Where Can You Practice Basketball Shooting in Tempe?

By October 7, 2026No Comments

Looking for basketball shooting practice in Tempe? Start with a plan for what you want to work on. A session with a clear goal gives you something useful to measure and a reason to come back.

At Ballin Elite, athletes can book 30- or 60-minute shooting sessions in a facility with eight shooting bays. These include a 3-point bay with two hoops and two shooting machines for one or multiple athletes. Our separate half court also has a Dr. Dish machine. Our location in south Tempe gives players and families in Tempe, Chandler and Ahwatukee a place to build basketball practice into their week.

Choose one goal before you step into the bay

Instead of trying to work on everything, pick a specific focus: catch-and-shoot attempts from the wings, shots from the corners, or a consistent setup before each release. Choose distances that fit your current ability.

Write down the goal before you start. “Practice my jumper” is broad. “Record my makes and attempts from three spots” gives you a clear task and a useful baseline for your next visit.

A simple plan for a 30-minute shooting session

A shorter session can work well when you want focused practice between school, work or team commitments. Here is one way to organize your time:

  • First 5 minutes: Ease into your session with comfortable, close-range shots and find your rhythm.
  • Next 15 minutes: Work on your chosen goal. Use a few repeatable spots and record makes and attempts at each one.
  • Next 5 minutes: Add a small challenge, such as reaching a target number of makes from one spot. Keep the task appropriate for your skill level.
  • Final 5 minutes: Finish with a comfortable shooting pace and record what you want to work on next time.

This is a sample practice outline, not a required Ballin Elite program. Ask our staff for help with equipment setup, and take breaks when you need them.

When a 60-minute session makes sense

A 60-minute shooting session gives you more time to work through several locations or divide your practice into separate blocks. You might use the first block for your main goal, the second for a different shot location and the final block to repeat your original drill.

Keep track of each block separately. Combining every shot into one total can hide which locations need more attention. A longer reservation also gives you room for breaks without rushing through your plan.

Shooting practice or basketball training: which should you book?

A shooting bay session gives you time and space for repetitions. If you want coaching on your technique or a broader basketball skill plan, explore our basketball training options instead of assuming instruction is included with a shooting reservation.

Families looking for group opportunities can also check our clinics and camps. Contact us if you are unsure which service fits your athlete.

What to know before your first visit

  • Choose your session and reserve an available time through our booking page.
  • Complete the athlete registration and waiver before participating. For minors, a parent or legal guardian should complete it using the athlete’s name and the parent or guardian’s contact details where instructed.
  • Wear basketball shoes, bring water and arrive a few minutes before your reservation.
  • Ask staff about equipment setup and any facility instructions before starting.
